Hadn't been much of a crowd before 5, but by 6 the room was
full |

Who's that, at just after 6? Alan??
Yes, not only was he early, but he passed on relaxing "off stage" and
instead mingled with the fans |

Some of the Chicago Fellowship gather for a group shot
(and ooops, I forgot I had my camera set on 1600ASA
for that Alan shot, so I washed this one out!) |

Hooray for our side, it's Mark! Our most favorite Borders
employee, and he who made the Sean Astin looooong wait so pleasant. |

Asked if he had a favorite sketch, Alan pulled one out of
his portfolio and PASSED IT AROUND THE ROOM! |

It was a very interesting talk, ranging as it did from his
previous work, LOTR work, scouting locations, different roles he had on
the film, and a million other topics. And the slides were gorgeous! |

Alan gets his wee scarvie |

OK, so you couldn't see it in that photo -- here it is
again |

He greeted each fan with a handshake and made all of us
feel that he was TRULY glad to meet us. |
 |
 |

Ever have a shot you just LIKE, even though it was blocked?
This is mine. |
 |

I think he spent more time just LISTENING to us, than he
did signing |

The wonderful Alesia took this shot of Alan and I
discussing how Kaitoke became Rivendell |

A few of us stayed to the end (and somehow lost our
fellows, drat it) to try for a group shot with THE MAN. The wonderful
Molly took this for us. |
